Skycrab world record ----- July 29, 2026

2 days ago, the minecraft speedrunner skycrab got the world record for fastest time beating the ender dragon at 6 minutes 39 seconds.

And it was an absolutely incredible run! I'm definitely no speedrunner, but I do know enough about it to understand how much of an achievment this was.
The other thing that made me amazed was that this was by no means a perfect run. Skycrab played incredibly, but there were notable errors and also just
moments of bad luck within the run as well! For example:

• Bad blaze rod drop rates
• Unlucky pearls, (and though his choice to go to the stronghold with only 10 eyes was risky, it ultimately won him the record!)
• Parkour choke, (in the nether, he fell down and took a bunch of damage)

But the fact remains that it was a phenomenal run! And also extremely deserved--skycrab almost got the record a year ago with a time of 6:17, but had
a horrible stroke of luck with an enderman and died right in the end exit portal. So glad he finally got it, very deserved and well done!
